How To Make Margherita Pizza | Authentic Italian Pizza Recipe | The Bombay Chef - Varun Inamdar

For soft pizza dough
1 kg refined flour
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
30 gms fresh yeast or 10 gms dry yeast
50 ml vegetable oil
280- 300 ml water

For the pizza sauce
500 gms tomatoes
10 -12 basil leaves
2 – 3 garlic pods
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt

For the topping
Italian mozzarella cheese
Basil leaves

Step 1 ( Dough )
– To make the dough take some sugar, yeast and dough and mix it well and keep it aside for 4-5 minutes then add it into the dough add oil, salt and water & knead it into a soft dough
– Once the dough is ready keep it aside for 20 minutes, by covering it with a wet cloth

Step 2 ( Pizza Sauce )
– Add the tomatoes into boiling water and once they are blanched add them into cold water
– Peel them off and cut them into half and remove the seeds
– In the blender add tomatoes, salt, sugar and cloves of garlic and run it into a smooth paste
– Add fresh basil leaves and extra virgin olive oil and let it marinate for 10-15 minutes

Step 3 ( Rolling Into Thin Crust )
– Take a handful of dough and cover the surface with flour and then roll the dough into thin crust and keep it over baking tray
– Top it up with tomato sauce
– Add some mozzarella cheese
– Bake it in pre heated oven at 200 degrees for 15- 20 minutes

– Garnish it with extra virgin olive oil & fresh basil leaves.

  1. I was expecting some fresh mozzarella cheese. A Lil dissapointed to not see the original receipie. next time make it with fresh mozzarella. you also use a lot of IT guy terms like "transfer" "run" and few others, just curious if your other job is in an IT company. ­čÖé now I terminate my comment so you can execute your program.´╗┐

  5. pls tell me, if i bought pizza base from mkt. , whenever i try to make pizza wid that it got burn in my oven (Murphy Richard convection) , i hv tried everything like preheating the oven n base ..´╗┐

  6. the directions for making the dough is not specific at all. I just made it and it doesn't look right because it does not say how much water to add besides the 280 to 300 ml´╗┐
