This is a scale I often use for improvising over the Spanish Progression (Am – G – F – E). I think it’s a lot of fun to either record the chords or have someone play them while you play around with this scale.

Okay, watch that again starting on the fifth fret sixth string (strumming) that’s A,B, C, D, E F, G sharp, A or neither way to look at is A whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, half step one and a half step back to A so that’s the three of it. Going through the fingering now starting with the first finger fifth fret (strumming) keep going to first finger (strumming) now, let’s go down (strumming) pinky there.

Okay, you can look on the PDF sheet to see the fingering and writing and that will help. Let’s do it a little faster, ready go! First, third, fourth, first, third, fourth, second, third, first, second, fourth, second, third, first, second. Going down, second, first, third, second, pinky fourth, second first, use my third here, second, fourth, third, first, fourth, third, first. Together now ready first, third, fourth, first, third, fourth, second, third, first, second, fourth, second, third, first, second, going down second, first, third, second, fourth, second, first, third, second, fourth, third, first, fourth, third and first. Do it double time nice and slow together. Turn the first finger ready go (strumming) going down ready go (strumming). Okay, I’m using alternate fingering in my right hand but you can use a pick up and down also. Again, ready — we will go up and down this time without stopping, ready go! (strumming) going down now (strumming) and ready go! (strumming), ready go! (strumming) ready, go! (strumming) ready, go! (strumming). One last time, ready go! (strumming).

GOOD!
