How to swim faster doing the front crawl. It’s very important that you start off in a very tight, streamlined position, glide and kick as fast as you can. If you’re going to be doing a short distance sprint, you don’t have to breathe that much. You can really just focus on pushing your arms through the water, and having a nice long stroke, and kicking your feet as fast as possible.

To swim faster, you don’t necessarily need to move your arms faster and shorter, because that will waste more energy. In order to swing faster, it’s important that you get as much distance per stroke as possible, so you gain more yardage as you’re moving forward. So you want to have nice, long arms pushing you through the water with your face in the water, and your head nice and steady as your body swimming through a narrow tunnel, and it rotates from side to side. Your kick is moving as fast as you can, up and down. Those are some things that can help you have a fast front crawl.

  1. trust me guys ,I am a good swimmer, to swim faster you need to have your legs straight and kick fast, for arms you need to push through the water quite deep but not too deep!

    Actually freestyle has come to mean front Crawl
    Now in a freestyle event per se you can swim ANY stroke that's why they call it freestyle

    Fingers are open a bit. Head is down—
    Elbows on the outside and push back
    But the real key to going fast is to be strong for your own frame and body size and to synchronize your pull with your body rotation
    Imagine trying to throw a ball far… Without proper body rotation you fail to get the maximum distance

  3. you can even swim faster by tapping your legs with your joint equal to the water level. it gives a large boost in the start

  4. Nevr open up your fingers. The water is just running throught them than. First lesson is to keen your fingers tight and together

  5. I have been a part of competitions for 5 years, and swim 2 miles per day, with running so I am pretty good. My 50 free, 2 laps is 27.5 @TheDez888
