  1. Really good, but I wished I'd skipped the varnishing at the end, for two reasons:
    1.) Polyurethane gives a slight yellow tinge – which on white is quite noticeable.
    2.) You'll end up with a shiny finish (even with clear satin) which detracts from that naturally aged look.

    Do you really need it? I thought it was for hard wearing – mainly outdoor – surfaces?
