Warming up the voice prior to singing, is equally important to stretching and warming up your muscles before any other physical activity that requires stamina, control and co-ordination of various muscle groups.

Your warm-up session should usually last anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes and sometimes longer if you’re preparing to go on stage or sing for a more lengthy period of time.

The vocal exercises that I’ve included in this lesson are varied and it’s not necessary to do all of them every time you sing 😉

This Lesson is from The Singing Solutions Program, written and produced by Rae Henry.

This program contains over 250 HD video tutorials covering every aspect of singing and performance – and it’s all available for FREE here on YT!

  1. I don't know if it was luck or something, but I did the warmups again after watching the video, concentrating on keeping everything relaxed, good posture, and starting a yawn in the back of my throat, and I was able to sing a high C several times, which I haven't been able to do for years, as I am getting older and have issues with my neck. Thanks a million. Best of success to you.

  2. 12 commercial spots for a 45 minute video? I think I'll just request the universe show me how to tune in my instrument without the advertisements. It'll probably be much quicker.

  3. wooo! on to lesson 4 after 6 weeks for me! your lessons are great! Thanks Rae. These lessons are super helpful!

  4. Warm-up exercise #6 is so fun, I want to headbang while doing it (I won't though, that would probably strain my muscles. Thanks once again Rae, your classes have been VERY helpful :)

  5. Thank you for sharing your warm ups and cool downs. I've been straining my throat too much. Hoping this helps. Cheers!

  6. Hello!! very good program but it seems to me that the ¨low" files are really for ¨high" voices. Is it just me? thanks anyway!!

  7. I have a question. Are this lessons for beginners? I want to learn how to sing. I am in the right place? or this are for people who are singing already? THanks +Rae Henry
